Our Empire

We were the outcasts. The socially unaccepted people. The weird people. The nerds, the geeks, the ringlets, the war in the star, the Potters, the rockers, the rollers, the goth, the emo, the us. That's who we are. A group of people that society deemed have unwanted qualities. But who is society anyways? Isn't it the collection of people in a community? Well if that is true then why would we, the society, deem ourselves unwanted? We are a part of society after all. No, society is not that in reality. Society is an empire with the 'popular' as ruler, self appointed ruler in which we have no idea how they got there at the first place. When this empire turns on us, what do we do? Build our own empire.

We always stood out. You put is in a room full of kids and you could always pick us out. While others wear Nike or whatever else is trending these days, we wear some unknown brand of shoe that looks worn out. When others wear summer clothes, we keep bundled up in sweaters. And if that won't do ask what music we listen to. If it's not Justin Bieber, Nicki Minaj, or Ne-Yo then you got yourself one of us. Sounds a lot like flash judgment? It is.

People take one look at us, decides what we could be from the outside, checks us off as outcast, and moves on to the next person. They never bother knowing the true us, they just move along like we know they would. We accepted this fact with shame, and locked ourselves out from society. Society doesn't want you, now go home and contemplate over the meaning of that.

You know the saying 'The enemy of my enemy is my friend.'? It really means a lot to us outcasts. You look through the lunch room, find a group of people similarly judged as outcast and you go sit with them because you share the same fate. Might as well go about it together then live the rest of school alone right? It's bad enough to be thrown out by 'society' but to be alone is double the pain.

Of course most people thrown into that table was cast out because of the very reason you did, so you would've went along well even if fate didn't decide to pit you against each other. We shared the same interests; music, tv shows, games, and many more. We also share the same resentment towards the 'society'. The 'society' that deemed our kind was undesirable. Few of us however, have resentment towards ourselves because most of us accept that we are who we are, and that 'society' is a stupid concept.

That was the key word '"society" is a stupid concept'. Society is the collection of people within a community, so why then are we being 'tossed out by 'society'' when it's clear that only the populars got a say in our judgement. And the populars made up only a half of the school's contingency, the fourth is country, the other fourth is us. Once we realized how stupid of a system our 'society' is we decided to break out of the dysfunctional system. The populars have their empire up and running run by athletes, beauty queens, and the rich. As for the country people they decided to break off on their own to build their own societal empire, they could careless on what 'society' thinks about them.

We're about to follow the path of the country people. We're going to break off, build our own empire, our own society, and have fun. And so we set off locking ourselves away from society. Screw pop culture and Nike and Shakeel O'Johnston, or whoever. We could careless about what this faulty society was founded upon. Instead we'll make our own society, a society with no foundation other then oppression by the blind majority. We might have that one big similarity of being thrown into the unwanted prison, but in truth we bring different personalities to the table, so to speak. We join these personalities together, accept those who wants to join and live on with our now 'feel wanted in society' life.

A lot like how America was started. Somebody decided that joining the Anglican church was too mainstream so he rowed a boat to the 'New World'. We decided it was too mainstream to be oppressed by a dysfunctional 'society' so we decided to screw them off and live off not caring about them. If anything we're much happier then them now that we embraced our true selves. Our true characters. Our faces behind the mask. Our empire...

  1. Haha, quite the anarchist you are, ey? Though I'd say I feel the same, especially in the States. But I think that difference is a beautiful thing; colorful fish in a vast, black sea. (I don't know, I'm not the best writer, nor am I good at analogies. Excuse me.)

Oh, and I'm sure you know who I am, right?

    1. No I don't know who you are, you are anathema, an illusion, a face behind a mask, the unseen figure behind the fog.

Yes I know who you are... Hahaha. Well actually that's not true at all. I know your name, I don't know who you are though.

Difference is a beautiful thing. While the mainstream world goes on with the blandness of what EVERYBODY uses today we decide to paint the walls a little differently. To add a touch of rock there a touch of goth here and another bit of Potterville here. While people might look at our 'wall' as black, we see that our 'black wall' is way more colorful then what they call 'pop culture'.

    2. Oh, and how did you find this page anyways?

    3. HAHA so you honestly don't know, or are you just playing coy? I was the silent kid in the car, who occasionally laughed, and when she did laugh, it was annoying. The kid who participated with you at the English competition...

Oh, and as for how I found this:
      1. As people kept talking about you (Yes, my friends talk about you), I became curious.
      2. I went through my e-mail, then pulled up the one from Geschool containing the results of the online olympiad.
      3. I copied & pasted your name from the list into Google.
      4. Bingo!

Don't think wrong of my curiosity. I'm naturally like this when I hear about a new person.

    4. Problem one, I know nothing about you laughing since I never paid too much attention to non essential details when eavesdropping to a conversation of people I don't have anything to do with and would much rather EXPLODE!!!

WHUT? In all seriousness I know who you are. Maybe, not really, who knows? I find the phrase 'your friends talk about me' interesting. I don't like being talked about. Stay silent, be silent, no talking, keep talking about something else except for me. I feel like I'm being...judged. I hate being judged, look where that got me last time.

Well no, you wouldn't be able to do that. Actually you can, no not really. Hahaha, have fun re-reading and be re-confused even more.

    5. That... was indeed confusing. And no worries, no one ever says anything bad about you. Who's judgement are you to fear if you've done nothing wrong?

    6. Allah's? Sorry that's such a cliche'd answer, although it is very much true. Well in all seriousness I'm afraid that people might think a certain way about me because of my actions, which may or may not have been done in a bad fashion.

So I don't want people to think I'm a good person just because of one good thing that I did, because I know how much of a bad person I can be. And I don't want people thinking that I'm a bad person because I can be a good person. Does that make sense? No of course it doesn't.

    7. Haha, I'm sorry for answering like that. In addition to being bad at writing I'm also bad at communication that isn't Tumblr-esque, or talking like I'm the author of "The Fault In Our Stars".

And no. No it does not.
