A New Way to Celebrate the New Years

Happy new years to you guys, and may the next year be a better one then the next. So I got thinking about this, and after some long contemplation, and charting of the movements of the stars, and throwing of some spices, and convening with the spirits, and interpreting of some old Mayan calendar that supposedly predicted the end of the year to be on 2012, I came to a conclusion. I think we're not celebrating the New Years the way we're supposed to.So another year has passed, what does this mean? New chances and experience to come? More people to meet and friends to make. Yes, that is what the new years mean to most of us. Not to me people! I see death, despair, wars, plagues, death, sadness, death, suffering, death, and death. So if you haven't caught on I mostly see death.

One year closer to our death people! Read the memo, you have one less year to live. So instead of partying pointlessly and doing stupid things, might it not be better if we actually use the passing of one year of our life to do something purposeful? Like help other people say. That would actually do the world some good.

Why the heck are we partying when we know that we have one less year to live? Shouldn't we think, "Hey, I may die next year so I better do some good to highlight my life." Yeah, that's what we should be thinking, but when fun takes over thinking goes out of the window. Why do we party anyways? Like what's there to celebrate anyways? That we survived last year? Yeah I see where you're coming from.

Fine, how about we make the new years celebration a two part thing? One part will be a celebration of surviving the past year, and the other one a spree of doing good deeds to kickstart the new year with happiness in what could be the year you're going to die in. Yeah that sounds good?

Anybody who doesn't agree with giving charity on this day could go into their house and live peacefully on the first day of the new year. But on midnight they can't complain when people knock on their doors for donations. Come on people, we're gonna do some good this year. We're going to make everybody happy instead of just us. We're going to celebrate the next new year a little differently.
